My 3 year old is getting to the stage were her drawings are becoming more than just squiggles and lines. Ovals with eyes and noses resembling faces. Green zigzags for grass. Orange triangles shooting through the air like rockets. Each piece comes with a story. Sometimes one piece will have several stories that change from day to day. It is amazing how she can look at a drawing and see something totally different than what she saw the day before. And even more amazing that, as she is telling me the story behind the drawing, I can see it too. It is this reason that I find it so important to keep her artwork up on display. I want her to know that what she draws is just as important as anything I would draw or any piece that we would purchase.
Currently (like most families) we hang the kids artwork on the fridge. However, the fridge is becoming a little crowded these days and I would like something a little more permanent. I already have a pretty good idea for displaying my daughters artwork. I can not WAIT to show you ( I only hope it turns out as amazing in real life as it does in my mind) but that will have to wait. I have a few more thrift stores to browse and garage sales to seek to find that perfect piece. Not to mention we still have to paint the walls!! But until then I would like to share with you a few great ideas that I came across for displaying your own child art work. .
Check out this amazing tutorial for turning your kids art into a softie
Or you could transfer them onto fabric and make a duvet cover (is this not the coolest idea?)
How do you display your child's art? Leave me a comment or a link. I would love to know.
